Dozer Operator - Fort McMurray
About The Position
Sureway Construction is one of Alberta’s largest heavy construction contractors, involved in civil earthworks and grading, utilities and offsite, mine operation and aggregate extraction. This is a full-time, seasonal position based in Fort McMurray and surrounding areas, with a schedule of 10+ hours per day, 6 days on and 1 day off. Overtime is paid after 8 hours per day or 44 hours per week. The role requires a hard-working, reliable individual who is flexible with their schedule and can work in physically demanding conditions. Options for living accommodations and daily allowances are available.
Requirements
- Three (3) to five (5) years’ experience as a Dozer operator.
- Experience with finishing work (sloping, leveling) required.
- Personal Reliable Vehicle
- CSA approved steel toed boots with 6” ankle support
- Ability to pass pre-employment drug and alcohol testing (swab-based test)
- Successful completion of Company Orientation and site-specific orientation
Responsibilities
- Safe operation of dozer as it pertains to stripping, ditching, sloping, leveling
- Operate dozer in close proximity to ground personnel and other equipment
- Promote, execute and adhere to the company’s safety program, and encourage all employees, subcontractors and consultants to adopt safety as a culture.
