About The Position

The incumbent will be responsible for planning, organizing, directing, promoting, and coordinating the ongoing evaluation of programs and services within their teaching sector. They will ensure that these programs and services, regardless of campus or delivery method, meet the needs of students and industry. They will lead the development of new programs, ensure compliance with ministerial standards and professional body requirements, support program directors in identifying professional development needs for faculty, manage financial resources, and foster collaboration among stakeholders. In this role, the incumbent combines analytical and strategic skills with a strong sense of leadership and collaboration in their mission to explore innovative practices and improve teaching and learning.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in administration, education, andragogy, or a related field, or equivalent.
  • Minimum of nine years of relevant experience.

  • Demonstrated experience in project management, from planning to implementation and evaluation.

Responsibilities

  • Strategic Planning and Foresight: Make decisions regarding the management of programs and services under their responsibility and participate, as a member of the Teaching team and in collaboration with the Vice-Presidency of Teaching, program directors, and other deans, in decision-making that influences the current and future effectiveness and financial viability of the Teaching sector.
  • Inform the Teaching team of issues related to the school that may influence the operation of the unit and the College.
  • Develop the school's five-year plan, lead its implementation, and establish short, medium, and long-term goals and objectives.
  • Define annual objectives, expected results, measurement methods, and action plans.
  • Contribute to the quality of the educational experience at the College and to the well-being of students and learners through rigorous planning and management of programs and services.
  • Create a context that fosters the development and implementation of new programs adapted to technological changes, economic trends, and the labor market.
  • Ensure ongoing monitoring and evaluation of the school's programs and services, by analyzing results, feedback from students and teaching staff, and performance indicators, in order to optimize the quality and effectiveness of educational initiatives.
  • Ensure the quality of service delivery under their responsibility and guide the continuous improvement strategies for the College's programs.
  • Ensure compliance in the development and updating of new programs under their responsibility and at the College level, including the online course content development model, delivery methods, and the College's pedagogical approach.
  • Maintain continuous strategic watch on postsecondary sector trends, pedagogical innovations, and government orientations to inform pedagogical planning and program development.
  • Ensure compliance with ministerial standards and professional body requirements and support those applicable to programs and services.
  • Actively participate in identifying and managing external funding opportunities, including preparing grant applications and negotiating partnership agreements.
  • Develop and strengthen partnerships with external organizations, employers, and partner institutions to support the school's strategic vision and initiatives.
  • Ensure strategic monitoring of the quality and compliance of work-integrated learning at the school level, including performance data analysis, risk management, and adherence to standards and accreditations.
  • Represent the school and foster intersectoral collaboration through active participation in committees and partnerships.
  • Ensure strategic risk management at the school level, including programs, operations, compliance, and financial resources, to protect institutional interests and support informed decision-making.
  • Pedagogical Leadership and Student and Learner Satisfaction: Collaborate closely with various College sectors to meet needs and contribute to the academic success and satisfaction of students and learners.
  • Promote the success of students and learners.
  • Establish a strategic vision for experiential learning by ensuring compliance with essential requirements, institutional quality standards, and program planning while mobilizing appropriate sectors.
  • Provide innovative pedagogical and technopedagogical leadership by optimizing the integration of educational technologies and supporting staff professional development.
  • Lead the College's pedagogical approach and the school's services, by planning and prioritizing activities to achieve strategic objectives and ensure excellence in service delivery.
  • Lead professional development activities for school staff offered by the sector and ensure their compliance across the College's territory.
  • Ensure that all activities within their sector, including complaint management and student record protection, comply with institutional policies and procedures.
  • Human Resources and Financial Resources: Assume responsibility for planning and managing the school's strategic budgetary priorities, including major investments and purchases related to program development and long-term vision.
  • Manage human and financial resources while maintaining a healthy work environment and a strategic allocation of resources.
  • Ensure staffing and performance appraisal of staff under their direct supervision, while mentoring program directors in the strategic management of their teams.
  • Contribute to the development of policies in compliance with the requirements of the ministry and applicable professional bodies, as well as the needs of the services.
  • Ensure an equitable and inclusive provincial service offering, adapted to the needs of the student community.
  • Prepare activity reports to inform senior management and government bodies.
  • Define a clear school structure to foster communication and collaboration.
  • Collaboration, Communication, and Mobilization: Collaborate with the College's Marketing department for the promotion of the school and its programs.
  • Develop effective communication strategies to promote sector initiatives.
  • Ensure the mobilization of intersectoral teams to analyze educational technologies and systems under their responsibility and to collaborate on new projects or initiatives.
  • Promote community initiatives through networking.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with representatives from the business and industry sector, associations, companies, and advisory committee members, and foster their contribution to program development, updating, and relevance.
  • Plan, negotiate, and establish partnerships and agreements at various levels (local, regional, provincial, national, international).
  • Oversee the functioning of program advisory committees (PACs), including guiding members, following up on decisions, recruiting members, and reporting to the VP of Teaching.
  • Serve as a resource person for government bodies, partner organizations, and Teaching sector staff.
