About The Position

Drives gasoline- or diesel-powered tractors to transport and spot trailers at appropriate loading docks and staging areas. This position works the weekend shift, Saturday through Monday, from 6:00 AM to 6:30 PM. Pay is $24.50 plus a $3.00 shift differential.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED, or an equivalent combination of experience and education.
• One year of verifiable experience.
• Ability to operate a yard truck safely.
• Class A CDL license required.

Responsibilities

• Attach a drive unit to trailers and move them to and from dock doors for loading and unloading.
• Check trailer lights and tires, inspect the truck for defects before and after trips, and submit reports on truck condition.
• Monitor truck refrigeration units and check temperatures as needed.
• Maintain an orderly lot and trailer-location paperwork by performing daily yard checks.
• Check empty trailers to ensure they are clean.
• Read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Write routine reports and correspondence.
• Adhere to safety guidelines and rules.
• Follow corporate and site-specific Good Manufacturing Practices and report observed noncompliance.
• Observe company safety rules and assist with enforcement as appropriate.
