About The Position

Drives gasoline- or diesel-powered tractors to transport and spot trailers at appropriate loading docks and staging areas. This is a weekend shift from Saturday through Monday, 6:00 AM to 6:30 PM. The listed pay is $24.50 plus a $3.00 shift differential.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED, or an equivalent combination of experience and education.
• One year of verifiable experience.
• Ability to operate a yard truck safely.
• Class A CDL license.

Responsibilities

• Move trailers by attaching the drive unit and transporting trailers to and from dock doors for loading and unloading.
• Check trailer lights and tires, inspect the truck for defects before and after trips, and submit reports on the truck’s condition.
• Monitor truck refrigeration units and, when required, check temperatures.
• Maintain an orderly lot and paperwork for trailer locations by performing daily yard checks.
• Check empty trailers to ensure they are clean.
• Read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Write routine reports and correspondence.
• Adhere to all safety guidelines and rules.
• Follow corporate and site-specific Good Manufacturing Practices and report observed noncompliance.
• Observe company safety rules and assist with enforcement as appropriate.
