About The Position

Sanford Health is seeking a driven, mission-minded Dosimetrist to create high-quality radiation treatment plans and contribute to individualized patient care. The role generates dose distributions and computerized isodose plans as prescribed by a radiation oncologist and directed by a medical physicist. The Dosimetrist works with the radiation oncology team to help patients feel informed and confident throughout treatment.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Radiation Therapy, Radiation Science, or Radiography.
• Graduation from a JRCERT-accredited Medical Dosimetry program of at least 12 months.
• Extensive knowledge of radiation, anatomy, normal tissue contouring, medical imaging fusion, and cross-sectional anatomy.
• Must be a Certified Medical Dosimetrist or obtain certification within three years of hiring.
• New graduates or non-certified applicants with two years of experience as a medical dosimetrist will be considered.

Responsibilities

• Compute radiation dose distributions and generate isodose curves.
• Document treatment planning information in the radiation oncology electronic record.
• Provide direction or assistance with challenging simulation setups or custom treatment devices, as needed.
• Consult and collaborate as part of a radiation oncology team to deliver individualized treatment.
• Perform dosimetry procedures using the department’s treatment-planning computers and protocols.
