About The Position

The Dosimetrist develops patient radiation treatment plans in collaboration with the Radiation Oncologist and the Medical Physicist, as well as assists with the radiation therapy treatment simulation and delivery.

Requirements

• Accredited Program: Dosimetry (Required)
• ARRT_American Registry of Radiology Tech (ARRT) - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
• Certified Medical Dosimetrist (CMD) - Medical Dosimetrist Certification Board (MDCB)
• Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimum supervision.
• Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
• Two (2) years of experience as a Radiation Therapist with dosimetry training or graduate from a Medical Dosimetry Program.
• Dosimetry Training Program or Radiation Therapy
• Certified Medical Dosimetrist (CMD) from the Medical Dosimetrist Certification Board (MDCB) or Radiation Technologist with dosimetry training or graduate from a Medical Dosimetry Program.

Responsibilities

• Assists with or performs quality assurance of radiation treatment plans.
• Assists with or performs the fabrication of beam modifying devices and immobilization devices.
• Designs a treatment plan to deliver a prescribed radiation dose and fields to a defined tumor volume.
