About The Position

This position is responsible for the safe and efficient day-to-day operations of student housing and recreation facilities and resources. The Dormitory Attendant will supervise and provide assistance, support, and living skills development training to campus residents and their dependents in two dormitories, three apartment buildings, and the Student Services (Recreation) Center. This role provides 24/7 coverage of the entire Residence Life campus to maintain and ensure the health, safety, and security of the residents, visitors, and campus facilities. Positions in the Department of Residence Life cover a 24/7 schedule when students are on campus, and efforts are made to accommodate employee schedules. Staff work independently most of the time, with the ability to call a supervisor or student worker for backup. Tasks include regular and occasional duties each shift, general monitoring of facilities and students, and new and ongoing projects as necessary to meet campus needs and respond to student needs.

Requirements

Two years of paid work experience, one year of which was dealing with the public.
Possess a valid driver’s license.
CPR/AED/First Aid Certification or the ability to obtain one at the time of application.
Alaska Residency Requirements must be met.
Must certify legal right to accept employment in the United States.

Responsibilities

Complete regular and occasional tasks each shift.
Monitor facilities and students.
Undertake new and ongoing projects as necessary to meet campus facility needs and respond to changing student needs.
