About The Position
Management & Training Corporation (MTC) is hiring a Dorm Advisor to work at the Centennial Job Corps Center in Nampa, Idaho. The role monitors students living on residential floors to ensure they follow Center rules and regulations, and fosters an atmosphere that supports character development through encouragement of favorable behavior. The Dorm Advisor facilitates prompt and appropriate assistance in cases of injury, illness, traumatic experiences, or emotional distress, and documents student activity and incidents. This is a full-time position paying $19.25 per hour. The schedule varies and consists of 8-hour third-shift hours, from 12:00 a.m. to 8:30 a.m., on varying days.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
Nice To Haves
- One year of related experience working with youth is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Patrol and monitor dormitories to ensure student safety and appropriate behavior.
- Assist with recreational activities for students on and off center.
- Direct students and assist with dormitory cleanup and maintenance.
- Promote and support positive customer service throughout the facility.
- Participate in the student employability program and related activities.
- Document student activity and incidents.
- Facilitate prompt and appropriate assistance in the event of injury, illness, traumatic experience, or emotional distress.
- Encourage favorable behavior patterns and foster an atmosphere conducive to character development.
