About The Position

Assists in the finishing of door slabs to prepare them for painting. This is a physically demanding role in a warehouse setting. Appropriate safety gear (e.g., safety glasses, ear protection) is required at all times. Mid-Am Building Supply offers a competitive benefits package.

Requirements

Must be able to read and write so that written instructions can be easily followed and that corrections and needed information can be easily filled.
Analytical Skills - Ability to use thinking and reasoning to solve a problem.
Must be able to pass our forklift operators test after a normal training procedure.
Must be able to work in a team environment.
Need to pay very close attention to detail.
Ability to perform work accurately and thoroughly.
Ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously.
Ability to operate automated production line machinery.

Nice To Haves

Vocational school and auto body paint experience a plus.
Experience in millwork and finish work is a plus.
Spray equipment and knowledge of painting in a production line environment is preferred.

Responsibilities

Sanding and fixing imperfections of product to get the best paint finish.
Maintain the shop and paint equipment to ensure they stay in good condition.
Prepare the product going to the painter.
Paint and stain the product.
Monitor the workload and work orders for the day.
Ensure the paint is ordered in a timely manner.
Observe all safety rules: (i.e. safety glasses, ear plugs, Lock Out/Tag Out, etc.).
