About The Position

As the first face most customers will encounter at Kemo Sabe, it is essential that you be friendly, outgoing, and thick-skinned. You should be confident entertaining and engaging the line of people and making sure everyone is having fun. You must be comfortable thinking on your feet, following instructions, and staying calm in a hectic environment. Must be able to control guest flow in a welcoming and respectful manner. Must be able to stand for hours at a time, walk, bend, reach, and lift items weighing up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

  • Manage rope and guest flow in and out of front door—engage with people in line and keep entertainment and conversation flowing
  • Mop and sweep front walkway upon arrival
  • Get drinks for customers upon store entry
  • Bus glassware inside and outside of the store
  • Follow instructions of Manager On Duty
  • Assist with trash removal throughout and at end of shift
  • Assist with event setup
  • Learn the locations of key items that customers may request within the store (e.g. hat boxes, hat sponges, etc.)
  • Arrive in time to be presentable and ready to work at scheduled shift start time
  • Understand and follow our entry policies for VIP Black Card Holders
  • Check IDs at the door and mark any guest under 21 with a permanent marker X
  • Informing managers of fake IDs and denying fake ID holders access to alcohol
  • Serve non-alcoholic drinks to guests waiting outside
  • Involve a manager when dealing with a difficult customer
  • Escort guests out at the MOD's request
  • Maintain a clean and tidy front walkway
  • Keep the water pitcher full (summer season) and coffee station full (winter season)
  • Engage with people in the line and keep entertainment and conversation flowing
  • Keep the water pitcher full during summers (when applicable)
  • Keep the coffee station full during winters (when applicable)
  • Train with Event Coordinator on list of commonly asked questions/scenarios that happen at the door, and be able to confidently answer
