Responsible for preparing the donor, donor area and equipment for the pheresis processors. The role involves preparing the autopheresis machine for the pheresis process, monitoring the donor and the pheresis process, and responding to specific alarms or signals. The technician will disconnect the donor when the process is complete, maintain alertness to any donor reactions, and notify appropriate staff. They will use a Personal Digital Assistant (PDA) to record incidents, link equipment and soft goods to the donor, and alert supervisors of donor flow issues. Accurate recording of donor data in the electronic donor information management system is essential, following Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Understanding policies and procedures associated with hyper immune programs, maintaining a clean work environment, and ensuring sufficient supplies are also key responsibilities. The role requires adherence to Health Safety & Environmental (HSE) and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) policies, promoting safety, and maintaining confidentiality of all personnel, donor, and center information. Bilingual skills may be required. Perform job-related duties as assigned.
