About The Position

The College of Veterinary Medicine seeks a Donor Experience Senior Associate to support the Office of Advancement within the College. Reporting to the Director of Stewardship and Constituent Engagement, the Donor Experience Senior Associate operates with a high degree of organization, attention to detail, critical thinking and creativity. They must have polished interpersonal skills and be capable of interacting successfully with leadership, development officers, donors, faculty and other key stakeholders. The Donor Experience Senior Associate serves as an integral member of the Advancement team and is responsible for developing and executing programs and communications designed to thank and recognize donors and to instill trust that their gifts are used in accordance with their intentions and confidence that they make a difference, in order to build lifelong relationships and inspire people to continue and increase their support. The Senior Associate understands and tracks data related to donors’ giving and stewardship activity, collaborates with director and development partners about stewardship for individuals and/or groups of donors, and creates donor reports. The Senior Associate monitors use of gift funds and helps generate and share messaging about how gifts are used, helps connect students, faculty and others who benefit from gifts with donors, reviews gift and fund documentation as needed, and participates in a community of donor relations and stewardship professionals who share information and learn from best practices. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 2 years of relevant experience

Nice To Haves

  • 2+ years of professional experience in stewardship, donor relations, or related development work
  • 2+ years of experience working in higher education
  • Demonstrated success planning and implementing strategic engagement opportunities
  • Experience working in an alumni/donor/customer database

Responsibilities

  • Assists the Director in developing, executing and evaluating comprehensive donor experience programs and engagements designed to demonstrate impact, appreciation and connection across targeted and broad donor audiences to the college and Veterinary Medical Center. These efforts include, but are not limited to, alumni, grateful clients, foundations, corporate relations, faculty or staff.
  • Manages stewardship projects and programs tailored to specific and broad donor audiences to demonstrate impact, foster appreciation and inspire increased engagement.
  • Collaborates with the Director, as well as colleagues across the college and university to execute various donor relations initiatives.
  • Identifies impactful content and crafts compelling communications that highlight the transformative impact of donor support.
  • Develops, refines and produces reports, video messaging and presentations.
  • Actively contributes as a team member within the Advancement team by participating in meetings, providing tours of the College of Veterinary Medicine campus and supporting additional responsibilities, such as special projects, workgroups or events as assigned.
  • Oversees the college’s scholarship stewardship process, including managing awarding projections, monitoring use of scholarship gift funds, creating recipient profiles, facilitating student engagement for handwritten thank-you notes, ThankView videos, and coordinating virtual interactions between donors and beneficiaries.
  • Ensures all scholarship recipients appropriately acknowledge donor support.
  • Manages the gift acknowledgement process using established stewardship strategies.
  • Analyzes gift reports, coordinates college leadership participation, and ensures timely and appropriate acknowledgement of all donors.
  • Completes special projects and performs others duties as assigned.
