About The Position

The Donor Experience Consultant is a member of the Fisher Advancement team and reports to the Senior Director of Donor Relations and Operations. This position will work closely with various internal and external partners. The ideal candidate will be able to effectively operate in an often dynamic and ambiguous environment and have a proven and sincere commitment to working collaboratively with all constituents. They have the ability to work independently managing multiple projects with shifting priorities, competing interests and deadlines to ensure prioritization and execution of deliverables. They have impeccable attention to detail. The position’s primary responsibilities will revolve around three main areas of focus: fiscal stewardship and stewardship data, stewardship event management, and operations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • 4 years of relevant experience required including experience in stewardship or philanthropic environment with donor interactions or equivalent experience.
  • Highly organized and detail oriented.
  • Proficient in composing correspondence with email newsletters blogs and social media platforms.
  • Proficient experience with Microsoft systems and use of event management systems and databases software.
  • Knowledge of event planning best practices.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated success in building and maintaining relationships with stakeholders (e.g. corporate and industry partners, students, alumni, etc.).

Nice To Haves

  • Advanced degree in relevant field may be desirable.
  • 4-8 years of relevant experience preferred including event management, project management and experience with donor management systems; TAS experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of university policies regulations and fiscal procedures.
  • Knowledge of donor relationships and/or higher-education advancement.

Responsibilities

  • Creates new funds and provides updated reporting on fund balances via reporting tools.
  • Researches and resolves gift questions with internal partners and Ohio State Foundation colleagues to resolve gift designation and donor recognition challenges; Documents outcomes for institutional memory; Uses The Advancement System (TAS) to collect data on funds and manipulates data for impact reporting and provides necessary edits to prep for Impact Reporting.
  • Partners with the Senior Director of Donor Relations on event strategy and manages the execution of stewardship events for the Office of Advancement, including but not limited to scholarship recipient and donor interactions, groundbreakings, dedications, donor celebrations, key donor fund events and Fisher Prize.
  • Assists with Fisher’s ticket and parking request and allocation process for sporting events and special events in the stadium and arena.
  • Serves as the office manager for the Office of Advancement managing the day-to-day operations.
  • Provides management and oversight to student employees working in the office and serves as their liaison with the Graduate Programs Office and fiscal.
  • Acts as liaison between the Office of Advancement, Office of Marketing and Communications and Fisher Shared Services Center for fiscal matters.
  • Serves as travel arranger for members of the Advancement team.
  • Provides expertise and guidance to entire Advancement team relating to travel and reimbursements.
