About The Position

Canadian Blood Services is looking for a Temporary full-time Donor Centre Supervisor to join our dynamic Collections team, leading and supervising the Ancaster Mobiles team. The Collections Team is responsible for supporting Canadian Blood Services collecting donor blood in a safe manner to enable safe products which save lives every day. In this role, you will assist in the collection of blood and blood products ensuring adherence to all safety protocols and all required documentation is carried out. You will play an integral part in building and promoting a positive donor experience and encouraging donations at our mobile donor centres throughout the region.

Requirements

  • Successful completion of post-secondary level education in a relevant health sciences discipline from a recognized academic institution.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written in English, are essential.
  • Demonstrated effective problem-solving skills and the ability to take initiative.
  • Possess a leadership skillset to build teams and have a passion for achieving results and a commitment to customer service excellence.

Nice To Haves

  • Proven leadership ability is essential, and a minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience is preferred.
  • Sound knowledge and previous experience in blood collection, regulatory, and continuous quality improvement environments.
  • Experience in platelet apheresis and autologous programs would be considered an asset.
  • French language skills are an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure optimal clinic flow, a high level of service, and compliance with Canadian Blood Services policies and procedures, including those related to health and safety.
  • Ensure staff performs duties in an effective, efficient, and professional manner.
  • Interview, hire, and complete all aspects of performance management, including progressive discipline as required.
  • Ensure each mobile clinic is planned, organized, and managed to provide safe, efficient, and cost-effective blood collection.
  • Ensure the needs of the donor, volunteer, and the public are met.
  • Provide timely communication to staff, prompt follow-up for donor and staff concerns.
  • Assist in setting up booths, tables, and other equipment to ensure donor clinics are properly set up for use.
