This role is responsible for executing the plasmapheresis process by performing venipunctures. The Donor Center Technician 1 ensures total operation is compliant with state and federal regulations (e.g. FDA approved Standard Operating Procedures, OSHA, CLIA, and GMP) to maintain the highest production standards and ensure facility compliance. They maintain a high level of customer service and positive donor experience, as well as cleanliness of the work area to ensure a clean and professional environment. This role also involves maintaining Donor Center equipment based on Standard Operating Procedures and applicable manufacturer instructions, monitoring donor conditions, employing techniques to ensure donor comfort, safety, and the quality of plasma product, and maintaining donor confidentiality based on company policy. Accurate record keeping, troubleshooting machine alarms/alerts, performing routine QCs, and cleaning spills are also key responsibilities. The technician ensures donors meet eligibility criteria, performs vital evaluations, finger sticks for testing, and registers donors. They set up and prepare equipment, disconnect donors, and operate automated plasmapheresis machines. Prompt and sterile collection and storage of plasma product and samples, handling of product with unsuitable test results, organizing samples and product in a walk-in storage freezer, and preparing product and samples for shipments are also part of the role. Monitoring freezer and refrigerator temperatures and reporting any issues is required. Other job-related tasks may be assigned.
