About The Position

The Donation Specialist is an essential member of the team, providing customer service to donors and efficiently managing donations at the Falmouth, Maine location. The role involves inspecting, accepting, tracking, sorting, and processing donations; organizing merchandise into appropriate categories while maintaining quality and value; and loading and unloading materials into containers. The Donation Specialist also safely operates power equipment to organize and store donated goods and helps keep the donation site organized and efficient throughout the day.

Requirements

• Solid math and reading skills.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule that may include evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Positive and friendly attitude.
• Must complete a criminal background check.

Nice To Haves

• Prior experience or certification in light manufacturing, processing, or warehouse work.
• Prior experience with thrift or used-goods processing.
• High school diploma or equivalent, including GED or HiSET.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, accept, track, and sort donations to ensure they are directed to the appropriate place.
• Greet donors, provide customer service, and offer assistance as needed.
• Safely operate power equipment to organize and store donated goods.
• Categorize and sort merchandise while ensuring its quality and value.
• Load and unload materials into containers.
• Process donations throughout the day and maintain an organized, efficient donation site.
