About The Position

This is an entry-level position focused on receiving and presorting donations. The role involves interacting with donors, assisting with unloading, sharing the KARM Stores story, and issuing receipts. Team members are expected to live out the mission and core values of KARM Stores, which include being Trustworthy, Team-Minded, and Teachable. The department hours are 9 AM to 6 PM, with some Saturdays required. This role requires moderate to heavy physical activity, including frequent strenuous activity and the ability to lift at least 50 pounds.

Requirements

Must be 18 or older.
Ability to write in legible, clear handwriting.
Commitment to KARM Stores’ mission and mission statement.
Computer skills including general typing skills and web browsing capabilities.
Ability to interpret and follow a variety of instructions and goals provided in written or oral form.
Ability to stand up to 100% of a standard work day.
Ability to perform lifting and bending up to 75% of a standard work day.
Ability to perform moderate to heavy physical activity, including frequent strenuous activity.
Ability to lift at least 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

Perform daily job duties within the processing team and department, including accepting donations and presorting.
Handle the receiving and donation process with respect and care, including greeting donors, assisting in unloading donations, telling the KARM Stores story, repeating details back to the donor, and issuing a receipt.
Assist the team by living out the Mission to Reveal, Tell & Provide and carrying out the Core Values of being Trustworthy, Team-Minded, and Teachable.
