About The Position

The Donation Processing Supervisor is responsible for the overall efficiency, organization, and spiritual climate of our donation intake processing area. Reporting directly to the Store Director, this role oversees inventory flow, maintains high standards of organization, and leads both paid staff and volunteers. The ideal candidate balances operational excellence with a heart for ministry and community stewardship.

Requirements

  • Committed Christian who is committed to Christian Education in general, and LCS in particular
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred

Responsibilities

  • Implement and maintain highly organized, efficient workflows for the backroom receiving and sorting areas.
  • Oversee the sorting, grading, and pricing of all donated merchandise, including the strategic organization and rotation of seasonal goods.
  • Keep sorting and pricing stations clean, hazard-free, and fully equipped for daily operations.
  • Communicate regularly with the Front-End Supervisor regarding inventory levels, current floor needs, and items that are difficult to sell.
  • Monitor backroom inventory supplies and submit monthly operational orders to the Store Director.
  • Train, guide, and supervise volunteers, matching their unique strengths to processing tasks while fostering a welcoming, encouraging community.
  • Assist the Store Director with hiring, onboarding, scheduling, and assigning daily duties to paid backroom staff.
  • Assist with regular staff reviews and provide ongoing, constructive feedback regarding job performance.
  • Partner with leadership to plan and lead regular staff meetings to address operational issues and look ahead at long-range goals.
  • Maintain a visible and supportive presence during retail and donation hours to assist customers, donors, staff, and volunteers.
  • Assist in educating donors on acceptance guidelines based on market trends and front-end feedback.
  • Keep trash cans emptied throughout shifts and ensure external dumpsters are locked securely.
  • Execute end-of-day closing procedures, including locking doors, turning off lights, and adjusting climate controls when necessary.
  • Ensure all store policies are implemented fairly; route any special requests directly to the Store Director.
