About The Position

Goodwill Southwest Florida is seeking a dependable and service‑oriented Donation Driver to support the safe and efficient transportation of donated goods and materials. This role is critical in delivering excellent service to donors, retail stores, and donation centers while ensuring donated items move smoothly through processing operations. The ideal candidate brings strong driving skills, attention to safety, and the flexibility to assist across multiple operational areas while supporting Goodwill's mission of creating opportunities and strengthening the community.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Ability to meet DOT physical requirements.
  • Minimum age of 26 years with an excellent driving record verified through the state Motor Vehicle Department.
  • Ability to operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and material‑handling equipment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Sufficient mobility to turn, lean, kneel, bend, and stand for extended periods.
  • Ability to see and accurately recognize colors.
  • Knowledge of basic math skills.
  • Ability to frequently lift items weighing at least 40 pounds.
  • Ability to occasionally team lift items weighing up to 100 pounds.
  • Ability to work in environments where temperatures and climate may fluctuate.

Nice To Haves

  • Forklift certification preferred.
  • Previous experience in retail and/or stock handling preferred.
  • Valid Class B CDL with air brakes preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Drive DOT‑regulated vehicles and equipment to complete scheduled deliveries and pickups.
  • Provide professional, courteous service to donors, retail stores, attended donation centers, and other designated locations.
  • Load and unload trucks safely and efficiently in accordance with all policies and procedures.
  • Transport and handle RAW donated materials, salvage commodities, trash, fixtures, equipment, and other assigned materials.
  • Sort and route materials into proper designated areas using the Kaizen system.
  • Maintain full compliance with Kaizen guidelines, audits, and 5‑minute drill standards.
  • Assist with salvage sorting and cross‑train to support other assigned roles within the facility as needed.
  • Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and related equipment safely and effectively.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the immediate supervisor.
