About The Position

Donation attendants serve as Goodwill ambassadors, assisting donors with household goods in an active, dynamic role. The position involves welcoming donors, safely unloading and recording donations, sorting donated items, and maintaining a clean and safe donation area. Attendants provide customer service to internal and external guests and may help load or unload donations into company vehicles.

Requirements

Previous customer service experience.
Ability to provide exceptional customer service to internal and external customers.
Ability to read, write, and comprehend basic English instructions for safety and communication with management.
Ability to communicate verbally with associates and customers.
Ability to walk, stoop, stand, bend, lift, kneel, and climb continuously for prolonged periods, up to 7 hours per 8-hour shift.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds frequently.

Nice To Haves

At least six months of previous work experience.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Ability to work in a team environment.
Previous warehouse experience.
Previous pallet packing and forklift experience.
Basic computer skills.
Multilingual ability with proficiency in English.

Responsibilities

Provide excellent customer service to internal and external guests.
Greet donors and safely unload donations from vehicles.
Accurately record donations.
Safely operate manual or powered equipment, depending on location.
Keep the donation area clean and free of debris.
Complete donor receipts and offer donors a copy.
Sort donated items into designated categories.
Follow safety and security practices and report hazards and injuries to the General Manager, Store Manager, or Assistant Manager.
Maintain a clean, neat uniform and appearance.
Assist the truck and driver helper with loading and unloading donations into company vehicles.
Perform general housekeeping duties and other duties as directed.
