About The Position

The Donation Attendant supports The Salvation Army Adult Rehabilitation Center’s program by maintaining the donation area and helping provide a positive experience for donors. The role involves receiving donations, issuing receipts, sorting and organizing donated materials, and assisting with loading donations. The attendant also maintains required paperwork and reports, monitors supplies, and secures the donation trailer or pod at the end of each shift. Work schedules are determined by management to ensure store coverage; full-time associates may work shifts that include evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Requirements

Ability to read and write and understand and follow written and verbal instructions.
Ability to communicate effectively with management, fellow store employees, customers, and donors.
Must pass a background check, including Criminal History and Sex Offender Registry checks.
Ability to perform duties with or without reasonable accommodation.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or GED preferred.

Responsibilities

Maintain and clean the area in and around the donation trailer or pod at the beginning and end of each shift.
Receive donated items from donors and provide receipts.
Maintain reports and paperwork as instructed by the supervisor.
Separate and sort donated materials into the proper containers and stack materials as instructed by the supervisor.
Assist TSA PA/Drivers with loading donations onto trucks as needed.
Inform the supervisor when supplies such as brooms, receipts, totes, or carts are running low.
Secure and lock the donation trailer or pod at the end of each shift.
