About The Position

The Donation Assistant/Attendant is responsible for selecting items to be priced, removing trash from donated merchandise, cleaning merchandise, and sorting merchandise for the department pricer. Depending on the type of merchandise, items will be tagged before or after pricing. The role involves stocking the sales floor with priced merchandise, maintaining a safe, clean, and organized work area, and assisting pricers in achieving sales and production goals. Additionally, the attendant will assist customers on the sales floor and perform other duties as assigned by the Store Manager/Assistant Manager.

Requirements

Ability to identify saleable merchandise.
Ability to prepare merchandise for pricing.
Ability to work as a team in a production environment and communicate with co-workers.
Good customer service skills.
Ability to work quickly without making excessive mistakes.
Ability to organize one’s work station.
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
Ability to work 40 hours per week and meet the schedule demands of a production/retail environment.

Some retail or production experience is desired but not required.

Responsibilities

Selects items to be priced.
Removes and discards trash from donated merchandise.
Cleans merchandise as necessary.
Sorts merchandise for the department pricer.
Tags items before or after pricing, depending on the type of merchandise.

Assists the department pricers in achieving sales and production goals.
Assists customers in their shopping experience when on the sales floor.
Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Store Manager/Assistant Manager.
