About The Position

The Donation Acquisitions Director is responsible for the effective, efficient, financially prudent, and scalable growth of donated goods volume across the organization. This position leads business development efforts, strategic partnerships, and donation acquisition programs that generate consistent and repeatable donation flow. Under the direction of the Vice President of Operations, the Director supports enterprise goals by ensuring all acquisition efforts are aligned with operational capacity, transportation execution, retail demand, and brand standards. The role works closely with Retail, Transportation, Marketing, and Operations leadership to ensure reliability of service and execution. Responsibilities

  • Develops and executes a comprehensive donation acquisition strategy to increase donor access and overall donated goods volume.
  • Build and maintain strategic partnerships with businesses, municipalities, property owners, and community organizations to create recurring donation streams.
  • Identifies, pursues, and secures new donation channels and growth opportunities across assigned markets.
  • Maintains a structured partner pipeline including prospects, follow-ups, and projected volume contributions.
  • Oversee all donation acquisition programs including mobile collections, donation boxes, trailers, home pickup, and community donation drives.
  • Ensures all programs are executed in alignment with Goodwill brand standards, safety expectations, and operational capacity.
  • Evaluates performance of acquisition channels and implements improvements to increase volume, reliability, and cost efficiency.
  • Coordinates with Transportation and Operations to ensure route alignment, scheduling, and service execution meet expectations.
  • Leads onboarding, implementation, and launch of new partner-supported donation locations and programs.
  • Identifies, escalates, and resolves service issues including missed pickups, service gaps, and partner concerns.
  • Provides leadership, coaching, and oversight for Donation Acquisition staff, ensuring alignment with organizational priorities.
  • Establishes expectations and holds team members accountable for measurable performance results.
  • Tracks and analyze key performance indicators including donation volume, partner growth, service reliability, and cost metrics.
  • Prepares reports and provides recommendations to leadership regarding program performance and strategic opportunities.
  • Ensures compliance with organizational policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
