Community Health Action of Staten Island (CHASI) drives dramatic improvements in the health of New Yorkers by feeding people who are hungry, healing families broken apart by violence, and bridging the gaps between people and the compassionate health care they deserve. CHASI serves the most vulnerable individuals, families, and communities with critical services and programs. CHASI provides outreach, education, prevention, and direct support services for populations most affected by health disparities – the poor and working poor, low-income people with chronic illnesses, persons with criminal justice involvement, substance users, domestic violence survivors, people of color, and the LGBTQ community. POSITION SUMMARY: CHASI’s Domestic Violence Program offers a comprehensive suite of Domestic Violence and trauma services to survivors of Domestic Violence with enhanced focus on education and linkage to health & wellness through both individual and group counseling supportive services. CHASI works in collaboration with the Richmond County District Attorney’s office to expand reach and capacity. The Domestic Violence & Trauma Services Coordinator will plan, organize, and lead structured counseling and care coordination activities for clients. This includes comprehensive clinical assessment, treatment planning and implementation, Safety planning and short-term group and individual trauma-informed counseling/educational services. The Domestic Violence & Trauma Services Coordinator will provide direct supervision to the Domestic Violence Community Specialist. The Domestic Violence and Trauma services are co-located at 26 Bay Street and the Staten Island Family Justice Center (126 Stuyvesant Place).
