About The Position

The Domestic Violence Specialist III N plays a critical role in providing comprehensive support and advocacy for individuals affected by domestic violence. The specialist collaborates with multidisciplinary teams, including law enforcement, healthcare providers, and community organizations, to ensure a holistic approach to client care. Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, counseling, or a related field.
• Minimum of three years of experience working directly with domestic violence survivors or in a related advocacy role.
• Strong knowledge of domestic violence dynamics, trauma-informed care, and crisis intervention techniques.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with professionalism.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with diverse populations.
• Strong communication skills facilitate collaboration with clients, colleagues, and external partners, enhancing coordinated care efforts.
• Knowledge of trauma-informed practices ensures that services are delivered with sensitivity to the complex needs of survivors.
• Organizational and documentation skills are essential for managing caseloads and contributing to program evaluation and development.

Nice To Haves

• Master’s degree in social work, counseling, or a related discipline.
• Certification in domestic violence advocacy or related specialized training.
• Experience working within multidisciplinary teams and collaborating with legal and healthcare systems.
• Bilingual abilities, particularly in Spanish or other commonly spoken languages in the community.

Responsibilities

• Provide crisis intervention and emotional support to survivors of domestic violence.
• Develop and implement individualized safety plans tailored to each client’s unique circumstances.
• Coordinate with community resources, legal entities, and social services to facilitate access to housing, counseling, and legal assistance.
• Maintain accurate and confidential case records, documenting client interactions and progress.
• Conduct outreach and education to raise awareness about domestic violence and available support services.
• Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to advocate for client needs and improve service delivery.
• Assist clients in navigating the legal system, including court accompaniment and explanation of legal rights.
• Monitor and evaluate program effectiveness and contribute to continuous improvement efforts.
