About The Position

Domestic Forwarding Agents work directly with carriers to manage and execute the daily shipping of freight for our customers. They are responsible for maintaining the accuracy of shipment information, tracking and tracing of loads, and problem resolution. Forwarding Agents thrive in a fast paced environment and use their strong communication skills to develop and grow relationships with our carriers. Exact compensation is based on skills, experience, education, and location. Requirements

  • Basic use of computer systems and applications (e.g. MS Office, TMS) as trained/required.

  • High school diploma and one year of experience in administrative role, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • The usual and customary methods of performing the job’s essential functions require the following physical demands: carrying, pushing, pulling, stooping, bending, crouching, significant finger dexterity, and some climbing.
  • Must be able to lift, carry, and move up to 35 pounds.
  • The job is performed in a warehouse setting with temperature variations and requires the use of safety shoes and high visibility clothing.

Responsibilities

  • Track and trace shipments in a timely manner to best serve our customers
  • Enter shipment data ensuring a commitment to quality and accuracy
  • Provide timely and accurate shipment information to carriers
  • Utilizes industry knowledge and experience to proactively update the customer service agents and address questions regarding the status of their shipments
  • Assists in transportation arrangements, determining efficient routing methods, bookings, and deliveries
  • Confirm carrier billed charges align with expected costs
  • Navigates CRM and HRIS to locate facility addresses, contact details and organization charts in order to route the customer or vendor to the proper CSR or department
