About The Position

Charleston Dog Walker is seeking a reliable and independent individual for part-time weekday dog walks and pet care visits. This role is ideal for those with open mid-day schedules, such as remote workers, freelancers, parents with children in school, evening workers, or semi-retired individuals. As a W-2 employee, you will receive training and support from an established local company, allowing you to focus on pet care while the company handles clients, scheduling, and payments.

Requirements

Dependable, organized, and good at managing time.
Genuinely enjoy animals and be comfortable with dogs of different sizes and personalities.
Pay attention to details and follow instructions carefully.
Communicate clearly and professionally.
Comfortable working independently and solving small problems.
Don't mind being outside in Charleston weather.
Comfortable using a phone for schedules, directions, photos, and visit updates.
Reliable transportation, a valid driver's license, and auto insurance.
Ability to pass a background check.
A schedule that is expected to remain fairly consistent.
Commitment to the role for at least 6 months, ideally longer.

Nice To Haves

Professional pet care experience is not required.

Responsibilities

Walk dogs and provide potty breaks, playtime, meals, and medications.
Follow each pet's individual routine and detailed care instructions.
Send clients a journal and photos after each visit.
Monitor pets for any unusual behavior and communicate with management.
Travel between clients' homes in the Charleston service area, including Downtown, James Island, Johns Island, Avondale, and Folly Beach.
