About The Position

Our Dog Training Instructor conducts weekly group training classes and/or private lessons in a positive and professional manner so as to improve the lives of people and their dogs. Duties include following class materials and course curriculum, scheduling training sessions, answering client questions and following up with clients, using behavioral knowledge and experience to shape the behavior of pet owners and their dogs during classroom instruction, and filling in for other dog-training instructors as needed. You will be teaching "Learn to train your dog" classes in our Angell West training location, 219 Bear Hill Road, in Waltham.

Requirements

At least 4 years of experience with teaching group dog training classes.
Able to restrain and handle dogs humanely.
Working knowledge of all pertinent animal behavior tools (i.e. clicker, leashes, collars and harnesses).
Must be able to stand for prolonged periods of time.
Must be able to bend, crouch and reach.
Must be able to lift 50lbs without assistance.
Compassionate, positive, self-motivated and organized applicants.
Demonstrate excellent judgment, interpersonal skills.
Willingness to work with our clients in a customer focused manner.
