About The Position
The Comforted Canine is seeking reliable, responsible dog lovers for a flexible, part-time independent contractor position as a Professional Dog Sitter & Dog Walker in the Fremont, CA Area. This role involves providing in-home dog sitting visits and dog walking services while clients are away. You will have the flexibility to set your own availability and service area, and you will be matched with clients. This position is ideal for individuals who enjoy independent work, caring for dogs, and building trust with repeat clients, while providing peace of mind to pet parents. Dog sitting visits can encompass a range of tasks including feeding dogs, refreshing water, cleaning up waste, providing playtime and affection, sending visit updates and photos via an app, following specific client care instructions, bringing in mail or packages, adjusting home settings like lights and blinds, and administering medication if within your experience and comfort level. Availability during weekends, holidays, and various times of the day (morning, afternoon, evening) is particularly valued, as most visits occur when clients are traveling.
Requirements
- Experienced with dog care, especially in a pet sitting capacity
- Confidently handle dogs from small to large
- Reliable, punctual, and detail-oriented
- Strong written communication
- Comfortable working independently in clients’ homes
- Smartphone with reliable internet & camera
- Medication experience (oral, injections, fluids)
- Holiday & weekend availability
Responsibilities
- Feeding dogs and refreshing water
- Cleaning up waste
- Giving playtime, affection, or companionship based on each dog's personality
- Sending visit updates and photos through our app
- Following each client’s detailed care instructions
- Bringing in mail or packages
- Adjusting lights, blinds, or trash/recycling when requested
- Administering medication when within your experience and comfort level
Benefits
- Paid per visit, with rates typically starting around $25 per 30 minute visit, with higher pay for longer visits, overnight care, house sitting
