About The Position

The Comforted Canine is seeking reliable, responsible dog lovers to provide in-home dog sitting visits and dog walking services for clients in the Brooklyn/NYC Metro Area. This is a flexible, part-time independent contractor position that allows sitters to set their own availability and service area. The role is ideal for individuals who enjoy independent work, caring for dogs, and building trust with clients.

Requirements

• Experienced with dog care, especially in a pet sitting capacity
• Confidently handle dogs from small to large
• Reliable, punctual, and detail-oriented
• Strong written communication
• Comfortable working independently in clients’ homes
• Smartphone with reliable internet & camera
• Medication experience (oral, injections, fluids)
• Holiday & weekend availability

Responsibilities

• Feeding dogs and refreshing water
• Cleaning up waste
• Providing playtime, affection, or companionship
• Sending visit updates and photos through the app
• Following client's detailed care instructions
• Bringing in mail or packages
• Adjusting lights, blinds, or trash/recycling as requested
• Administering medication if within experience and comfort level
