About The Position

The Dog Handler is responsible for the care and general maintenance of the kennel and surrounding spaces for the health and well-being of the dogs and the guests’ enjoyment. Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Must have a general knowledge of or interest in dogs
  • Computer literacy, including experience with Excel and Word
  • Ability to engage with visiting guests and children
  • Must have excellent verbal & written skills
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with guests, managers, and team members
  • Basic knowledge and understanding of math
  • Must be able to exercise judgment and make decisions based on job knowledge and awareness of company goals
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to be on feet for the majority of the day
  • Must be able to work outdoors in all weather conditions
  • Must be able to operate a company vehicle or golf cart safely
  • Must comply with all company policies and procedures.
  • Regular and consistent attendance is required to perform the essential functions of this position.
  • Must be able to work well with other Team Members and managers and interact with our guests.

Responsibilities

  • Perform daily tasks pertaining to the upkeep of the kennels
  • Complete kennel daily chores, including watering, feeding and cleaning of stalls
  • Tour guests around the kennel, communicate about the breed and what we do at BF
  • Identify dog problems and communicate to the supervisor
  • Organize and maintain kennel-related tools and equipment
