Dr. Norm’s Animal Hospital Groomery is seeking a skilled and passionate Dog Groomer to join our growing team. Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Minimum of one to two years of professional dog grooming experience
- Proficiency in hand-stripping, scissoring, and clipper techniques
- Strong knowledge of breed standards and canine behavior
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Ability to safely handle pets of all sizes and temperaments
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds
Nice To Haves
- Certification from a recognized grooming school or program preferred
Responsibilities
- Perform professional grooming services including bathing, drying, brushing, clipping, and styling
- Deliver breed-specific trims and custom cuts based on client requests and pet needs
- Conduct pre-grooming health assessments to identify skin conditions, parasites, or matting
- Provide nail trimming, ear cleaning, and gland expression services
- Maintain a clean, sanitized, and organized grooming station and equipment
- Educate pet owners on coat maintenance and grooming best practices
- Handle pets with patience and compassion while utilizing stress-reduction techniques
- Assist with client check-in and check-out processes
- Schedule appointments and support retail product sales
