About The Position

Camp Bow Wow Rockaway in Rockaway, New Jersey, is seeking an experienced dog-care professional to supervise shifts in the back of the house and help manage and train Kennel Attendants (Camp Counselors). This is a hands-on role, not an administrative job. The supervisor works directly with dogs, including cleaning kennels, spending time in play yards with groups of up to 25 dogs, and training staff. The position monitors the safety, cleanliness, and well-being of the doggie day campers and reports back to upper management. The job requires lifting 40 pounds and standing on your feet for at least 3–4 hours while working among a group of dogs. Weekend and holiday availability is required; holiday flexibility may be available after working a previous holiday. The employer describes the role as offering part-time or full-time employment, with pay of $18 to $20 per hour based on experience and room for growth. Consistent, non-seasonal availability is preferred.

Requirements

Previous professional dog-care experience is required.
Must be able to lift 40 pounds.
Must be able to stand on your feet for at least 3–4 hours while among a group of dogs.
Must be able to work weekends and holidays.
Must be punctual, hardworking, upbeat, attentive, and a team player willing to adapt to changes.
Must be open to constructive feedback and willing to do what it takes to provide a positive customer experience.
Must love dogs and prioritize dog safety.

Responsibilities

Monitor the safety, cleanliness, and happiness of doggie day campers.
Manage the back-of-house shift with a team of staff members and report back to upper management.
Train new and current staff members.
Work directly with dogs in play yards and continuously monitor them.
Clean kennels and perform other cleaning duties, including cleaning dogs and picking up waste.
