About The Position

We are seeking a Documentation Technician to join our team supporting the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) in Silver Spring, MD. This contract provides Information Technology (IT) Operations & Maintenance Requirements support to NOAA, National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS), Office of Habitat Conservation (OHC). OHC is moving forward with a multi-year reorganization and consolidation of business tools, enterprise data, and business intelligence with the goal of supporting complex and growing program needs. The Data Technician will work with NOAA to collect, review and input documents into a computer processing system. Requirements

  • At least four (4) years of experience in general office practices.
  • Proficiency with word processing, spreadsheets, database, and other office software.
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to handle multiple deadlines simultaneously
  • Attention to detail with a focus on quality
  • High School, Technical Certification, or Graduate of Technical/Trade School
  • Ability to achieve and maintain a NOAA Public Trust

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with public and proprietary Federal Records, Data and Documents
  • Experience with creating inventories for Federal Records Center
  • Experience using document management software

Responsibilities

  • Performs a variety of technical and administrative tasks to support project objectives.
  • Prepares documents for scanning, ensuring proper organization and labeling.
  • Scans documents and forms according to established procedures.
  • Inputs data into client systems with accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Conducts quality control and assurance checks on scanned images and entered data.
  • Assists in preparing boxes for storage, shipment, and proper documentation.
  • Maintains an accurate and up-to-date inventory of records.
  • Supports the team on various project tasks as assigned.
  • Organizes and maintains project files in both physical and electronic formats.
  • Completes assigned tasks and deliverables within established deadlines and service-level agreements.
