About The Position

As a Documentation Specialist, you ensure complete, compliant documentation that supports accurate billing and timely reimbursement for new and existing patients. You’ll coordinate required paperwork, track deadlines, and maintain precise records to keep orders moving efficiently. Your day is structured around focused, independent work in a fully remote setting, with regular check-ins and timely communication. You’ll prioritize open documentation needs, review queues and dashboards, and pace your work to meet renewal timelines. Throughout the day, you’ll connect with physician offices, referral partners, and patients to confirm what’s needed and keep requests moving forward. You’ll also spend time reviewing updates to insurance guidelines, completing assigned online training, and contributing ideas that streamline workflows and reduce rework—ending the day with clean, well-documented status notes that set up the next shift for success.

Responsibilities

  • Requesting and collecting clinical notes, prescriptions, and authorizations
  • Following up on missing compliance items and resolving documentation gaps
  • Staying current on payer requirements and monitoring renewal needs via reports
  • Entering and updating data in Brightree in alignment with federal, state, and company standards
