Under general supervision, this role is responsible for receiving, storing, delivering, packing, and shipping all incoming and outgoing goods for the company in accordance with quality standards. The position ensures that documentation, tooling, and parts are correctly matched to paperwork, and that all materials are received, stored, and issued per production requirements. The role also involves shipping materials to vendors when completed, conforming to visual and dimensional specifications. Maintaining housekeeping and safety practices is crucial for quality. The Documentation Clerk will log into the main computer system, extract information, log time, enter inventory amounts, and forward to the next operation. This role requires verifying inbound or outbound tooling for damage, receiving and unpacking shipments, performing count checks, comparing with packing slips, and entering receiving information into the computer. Storing materials in appropriate areas and forwarding paperwork to proper departments are key duties. Periodic inventory counts following prescribed procedures are also part of the role, along with knowledge of the computerized "Consumption" inventory process. The clerk will keep stock in good order, ship and transport materials to production areas without damage, and prepare items for shipment to customers. This includes verifying parts and items against shipping documents, selecting and placing protective packing, assembling cartons, sealing containers, affixing labels, weighing, and completing documentation. Clarifying shipping discrepancies and preparing bills of lading and shipping reports are also responsibilities. The role requires demonstrating leadership, setting good examples, cooperating with management, and training incoming personnel. Detailed completion of departmental paperwork and explaining the logic of all phases are expected. The ability to make cost analysis for decision-making and exercise good judgment is necessary. Proficiency in using the on-line computer system as required by job procedures is essential. Good work habits, including neat stacking, labeling, and accessibility of materials, are important. The clerk must budget time effectively, accomplish important tasks first, and avoid unnecessary conversation. Working under minimal supervision to ensure materials are properly received and stored is required. The ability to correctly use the computerized receiving system and maintain logs of all outgoing and incoming shipments is necessary. A valid driver's license is required for picking up and delivering materials, parts, and supplies with an excellent safety record. Meeting truck loading schedules and securing month-end shipments are also duties. Preparing parts for shipment, including oil dipping and processing from QC and Heat Treat Departments, is part of the role. The position requires physical strength and stamina for a full shift. Demonstrating proper procedures for signing off travelers, filling out department slips, labor vouchers, and other documents is expected. Meeting all production and quality standards and performing other assigned duties are also required. Experience and/or training are considered. Effective communication in English, both verbally and in writing, reading, following, and interpreting instructions, performing basic mathematical calculations, and using simple to moderately complex measuring devices and fixtures are necessary. Physical ability to perform essential job functions is required.
