About The Position

We are seeking an experienced Document Services Supervisor to lead a Document Services team and oversee the production of high-quality legal documents. This role combines hands-on document formatting and editing with team leadership, workflow management, and deadline oversight. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and thrives in a fast-paced legal environment.

Requirements

  • Advanced Microsoft Word skills, including: Styles and formatting, Track Changes, Cross-references, Bookmarks, Automated document features.
  • Experience with document management systems and PDF software.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Familiarity with legal citation formats.
  • Typing speed of at least 80 words per minute.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • College degree.
  • Prior legal document processing or legal word processing experience required.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous supervisory or team leadership experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise the daily operations of the Document Services Department.
  • Manage workflow, assign tasks, and ensure deadlines are met.
  • Coach, support, and develop team members.
  • Conduct performance reviews and provide ongoing feedback.
  • Create, format, edit, and finalize a variety of legal documents, including: Pleadings, Motions and briefs, Contracts, Correspondence, Memoranda, Transactional documents.
  • Ensure all documents meet firm, court, and client requirements.
  • Proofread documents for accuracy, grammar, formatting, and consistency.
  • Maintain high quality standards and attention to detail.
  • Prepare document comparisons and redlines.
  • Create and update Tables of Contents and Tables of Authorities.
  • Convert PDF and other file formats into editable documents.
  • Maintain and update firm document templates.
  • Coordinate time-sensitive projects and court filing deadlines.
  • Prioritize multiple assignments in a fast-paced environment.
  • Partner with attorneys, paralegals, and administrative staff to ensure timely completion of work.
  • Coordinate and oversee the EDGAR filing process with paralegals and document specialists.
  • Monitor filing deadlines and accuracy.
  • Support department training and ensure EDGAR-related software remains current.
