This is an entry level Health Information Management position. HIM students are encouraged to apply! This position is full-time, Monday - Friday. Employees are required to work an 8-hour shift schedule during our normal business hours of 8:00am - 4:30pm CST. It may be necessary, given the business need, to work occasional overtime. We offer 4 weeks of on-the-job training. The hours of training will be aligned with your schedule.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma / GED
  • Must be 18 years of age OR older
  • Experience with Computers and Windows based programs
  • Experience in Health Information Management
  • Ability to work full time onsite at N17W24100 Riverwood Dr Waukesha, WI 53188
  • Ability to work 8:00AM - 4:30PM CST, Monday – Friday

Nice To Haves

  • Medical terminology experience
  • Experience with Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel (create, edit, save documents and spreadsheets) and Microsoft Outlook (email and calendar management)

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for preparing, scanning, and indexing documents into the electronic medical record (EMR) system.
  • Organizes and maintains health information records.
  • Reviews pre-electronic medical record (EMR) and electronic chart documentation ensuring correct patient, location, and no duplicate information.
  • Manages requests for documentation and information.
  • Locates, logs, retrieves, files, and delivers medical records stored in various mediums and systems.
  • Assist with providing coverage for department phone lines as needed
  • Other duties as assigned.
