About The Position

Mission Aviation Fellowship Canada (MAFC) is a Canadian charitable organization celebrating 50 years of saving lives in the most remote places in the world. Our vision is to see isolated people changed by the love of Christ and our mission is to serve together to bring help, hope, and healing through aviation. We are a unique ministry that operates the world’s largest fleet of small aircraft in over 30 countries worldwide, flying patients, relief workers, doctors, pastors, food, and life-saving supplies in the hardest to reach places on the planet. The Office Assistant, (Summer Contract) is a 30 hr/week, temporary position reporting to the Director of People and Culture in person in the Guelph, Ontario Home Office Mon-Thurs. 9am-5pm. At MAFC it is vital that our Home Office staff remain focused on our Global Mission and Vision. It is also critical to create a community of engagement and connectedness with the Canadian based staff who work in the hybrid model or completely remote. Requirements

  • Proficiency in MS Office with expertise in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong sense of ethical integrity and the ability to handle sensitive/confidential information with tact and discretion.
  • Ability to work individually as well as part of a team.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Clear police record and vulnerable sector check.

  • Be between 15 and 30 years of age at the beginning of the employment period.
  • Be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of the employment.
  • Have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Create and maintain a register of all manuals, policies, and controlled forms, including a schedule for document review and amendments.
  • Control access to documents and ensure proper distribution to relevant stakeholders.
  • Facilitate the document amendment process, including tracking amendment requests, obtaining approval for requested changes from the document owner, editing of the document and distributing and tracking updated documents.
  • Apply document control procedures to ensure the integrity of company documentation, including the management of printed documents and protection of electronic documents.
  • Working with various departments, assisting in the documentation of policies and procedures, following established document standards; creating templates to assist in the creation of standardized documentation.
  • Assist with outbound Purolator, priority post, packages, courier services, and other correspondence as needed.
  • Manage the front door - Receive deliveries, vendors and guests.
  • Assist with Kitchen duties as needed.
  • Assist with food for staff meetings, monthly birthdays and pizza, BBQ lunches, other.
  • Support missionary Home Office visits and Candidate Orientation as required.
