The Center of Molecular Oncology and Cellular Therapeutics (MOCT) at Children’s Mercy Research Institute (CMRI) is seeking to recruit a new researcher to enhance existing strengths and/or broaden the CMRI’s capacity to fulfill its mission to improve the health and wellness of children and their families locally, nationally, and internationally. This is a junior faculty position aimed at expanding current laboratory-based research programs and collaborating with faculty members in the Division of Clinical Hematology, Oncology and Bone Marrow Transplant (CHOT) at the Department of Pediatrics. The goal is to develop new diagnostic and treatment options for pediatric and young adult hematology and oncology patients. The successful candidate will have expertise in basic and translational cancer research, a strong track record of academic achievement with high-impact peer-reviewed publications, and the potential to build a nationally recognized research program in pediatric oncology and/or hematology. The position requires a PhD, MD/PhD, or MD credential and at least three years of post-doctoral experience. Successful candidates will be expected to work collaboratively with faculty across Children's Mercy and national/international partner institutions. Children's Mercy serves as the Department of Pediatrics for both the University of Kansas Medical Center and the University of Missouri-Kansas City Schools of Medicine, and faculty hold appointments at one or both. Children's Mercy is a core member of the National Cancer Institute-designated University of Kansas Cancer Center and of Frontiers: The Heartland Institute for Clinical and Translational Research.
