About The Position

UNM Medical Group, Inc. is hiring for a Doctor of Chiropractic Medicine to join our Center for Life Clinic. This opportunity is a part-time to full-time (0.5 - 1.0FTE) day shift opening in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Center for Life Clinic is seeking a skilled and compassionate Chiropractor to join our team. The primary responsibilities of this position include diagnosing and treating patients with health problems of the neuromusculoskeletal system. The ideal candidate should have excellent communication skills, a strong commitment to patient care, and a deep understanding of chiropractic medicine.

Requirements

  • Graduation from an accredited chiropractic school or college by the CCE (Council on Chiropractic Education) with at least 3 years of directly related post-licensure experience.
  • New Mexico Chiropractic License, New Mexico Board of Chiropractic Physicians, National board certification.
  • Completed degree from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.
  • Verification of education and licensure will be required if selected for hire.

Responsibilities

  • Provides and manages direct patient care, including physical examinations, evaluations, assessments, diagnoses, and specialized chiropractic medicine procedures and treatments for a specified patient population.
  • Prescribes herbal and other medications and supplements, and treatment regimens as appropriate to assessed medical conditions.
  • Provides the prescription and administration of devices, restricted devices, and prescriptive devices as defined in the New Mexico Board of Chiropractic Practitioners, Scope of Practice.
  • Performs procedures of Chiropractic Manipulation and other related procedures.
  • Performs physical medicine modalities, procedures, and devices.
  • Performs therapeutic exercises, breathing techniques, meditation, and the use of biofeedback devices that utilize heat, cold, color, light, lasers, sound, vibration, pressure, magnetism, electricity, electromagnetic energy and other therapeutic means.
  • Authorized to order appropriate diagnostic procedure reasonably necessary to clinically correlate a physical examination to a diagnostic impression; which shall include, but not be limited to laboratory procedures involving the collection of human fluids and special imaging, such as x-ray; CT scan, MRI, nuclear scans, ultrasonography, thermography, B.E.A.M., EEG, EKG, ECG and surface or needle EMG.
  • Provides counseling and education regarding physical, emotional, and spiritual balance in lifestyle.
  • Consults with primary care physicians, mental health therapists, and other healthcare providers in individual cases, as appropriate.
  • Refers patients to specialists and to relevant patient care components as appropriate.
  • Obtains patient histories and develops patient care charts.
  • Provides health education to students, families, and/or community health practitioners and groups, within area of specialty.
  • Enhances professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, current literature, in-service meetings, and workshops.
  • May perform clinical research related to specific operations.
  • May participate in planning programs and in developing specific health policies and procedures.
  • Follows established departmental policies, procedures, and objectives, continuous quality improvement objectives, and safety, environmental, and/or infection control standards.
  • Provides additional services permitted by the New Mexico Board of Chiropractic Practitioners.
  • Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
