About The Position

Heyl Royster, a large, fast-paced law firm, is seeking a motivated, organized, and reliable individual for a full-time Docket Clerk/File Clerk opening in its Edwardsville office. This role will assist with docket responsibilities, including independently processing electronic documents such as incoming mail, court filings, emails, and reports from court websites. The position involves inputting deadlines, important dates, and events into the computer system, ensuring proper attorney coverage for all events, preparing and distributing daily docket reports, and distributing documents to colleagues for easy accessibility. Additionally, the role includes file clerk responsibilities such as independent file management and maintenance, organizing paperwork according to an efficient filing system, and digitalizing necessary documents. The individual will also provide excellent customer service to attorneys, paralegals, and staff.

Requirements

  • Excellent computer skills working with Microsoft Office and office equipment such as a photocopier, scanner, etc.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Outstanding organizational skills
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Ability to excel and be efficient and thorough with multiple-large-volume tasks despite a fast pace and short timeframes.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to help improve processes and documentation to minimize errors.
  • Must be able to pass a background check.

Responsibilities

  • Independently processing electronic documents, including incoming mail, court filings, emails and reports obtained from court websites.
  • Inputting deadlines, important dates and events into our computer system.
  • Ensuring that all events are assigned proper and accurate attorney coverage.
  • Preparing and distributing daily docket reports.
  • Distributing documents and making them easily accessible to colleagues.
  • Independently conduct file management and maintenance.
  • Organizing paperwork according to an efficient filing system.
  • Digitalizing all necessary documents.
  • Protecting and updating files and making them easily accessible to colleagues.
  • Providing excellent customer service to the attorneys, paralegals, and staff.
