About The Position

East Coast Seafood Group (ECSG) is seeking a motivated Dock Worker to join their team in Rockland, Maine. This role will assist staff in the collection and distribution of live lobsters at the company's wharf. The position is seasonal, running from May through December. ECSG, established in 1981, has a long-standing reputation as a global leader in various seafood products, including North American lobster, scallops, finfish, and value-added seafood. The company distributes its products across North America, Europe, and Asia.

Requirements

A willingness to learn and a strong work ethic are essential.
Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Must be able to lift 20+ pounds.

Nice To Haves

Some exposure to the lobster industry is a plus.

Responsibilities

Communicate daily with the location supervisor about daily plans, issues, challenges, or concerns.
Coordinate with others to ensure lobsters are handled efficiently and with quality as a priority.
Maintain the dock's daily operational needs, including handling crates, pallets, ice, bait, and fuel.
Load trucks and trailers in an organized manner, ensuring easy identification of different lots.
Generate documentation for all transactions, including bills of lading, load sheets, and crate slips, and maintain organized records.
