About The Position

This position is critical to the production process, ensuring product is moved to and from the production floor in the correct FIFO sequence based on the production schedule and Julian/kill dates. The Dock Worker routes freezer product according to FIFO requirements, maintains clean dock areas, verifies product and trailer temperatures, and completes shipping and receiving paperwork. The role requires compliance with company policies and food-safety procedures, including SSOPs, GMPs, PPE requirements, and product hold procedures. The worker must be able to stand or walk throughout the shift and work in wet, cold, hot, or dry conditions as applicable. A forklift and pallet jack license must be obtained. Overtime may be needed, and other duties may be assigned by the supervisor.

Requirements

• Must be able to obtain a forklift and pallet jack license.
• Must be able to stand and/or walk throughout the entire shift.
• Must be able to reach and lift considerably.
• Must be able to work in wet and cold environments, as well as hot/cold or wet/dry conditions.
• Must be able to work under stressful conditions requiring prioritization and multitasking.
• Must be able to work overtime as needed.

Responsibilities

• Clean dock areas daily.
• Route freezer product to meet FIFO production requirements.
• Ensure products meet temperature requirements before shipping.
• Ensure trailers are pre-cooled to 40 degrees or below before loading and document trailer conditions.
• Replace torn boxes before shipping unless the product is contaminated; isolate contaminated product and immediately notify the supervisor and QA for disposition.
• Follow SSOP, GMP, PPE, company policy, attendance, and break-time requirements.
• Accurately complete bills of lading (BOLs), incoming product temperature records, incoming load sheets, and other required paperwork.
• Follow hold procedures: do not remove hold tags or tape, and do not ship held product until released by the Quality department.
• Perform other duties assigned by the supervisor.
