About The Position

The Dock Worker properly loads and unloads freight using a forklift, pallet jack, hand truck, or by hand; secures freight with straps, braces, and padding to prevent damage or shifting; and accurately records freight condition upon arrival at the service center. The role includes pre-shift and post-shift inspections of dock equipment, and regular attendance is required. Duties are not limited to those listed; operational, safety, and other needs may require additional assigned tasks, which the employee must be able to perform.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Must be at least 17 years of age.
• Must be able to push or pull a loaded pallet jack and/or hand truck with a minimum load of 70 lbs.
• Must be able to lift approximately 70 lbs. or more when required by essential job functions.
• Must be able to work all shifts, including overtime and weekends, and be dependable.
• Must comply with company policies, rules, procedures, and Code of Conduct.
• Must interact well with others and be able to work independently or as part of a team.
• Must be capable of working under tight time constraints in a high-volume environment with multiple priorities.
• Must be able to read, interpret, and comply with written materials such as safety rules, operations and procedure manuals, and maintenance instructions, with strong comprehension and concentration and the ability to meet deadlines.
• Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and may be subject to random drug and/or alcohol tests and a criminal history background check.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in the transportation industry.
• Stable employment history.
• Prior forklift operation experience or previous forklift certification.

Responsibilities
