Dock Worker
About The Position
The Dock Worker loads and unloads freight using a forklift, pallet jack, hand truck, or by hand. The role includes securing freight with straps, braces, and padding to prevent damage or shifting; accurately recording freight condition upon arrival at the service center; and inspecting dock equipment before and after shifts. Regular attendance is required. This list of duties is not exhaustive, and the employee must be able to perform other duties as assigned to meet operational, safety, and other needs. The position requires working effectively and dependably in a high-volume environment with tight time constraints and multiple priorities. Employees may work independently or as part of a team and must comply with company policies, procedures, and the Code of Conduct. Employment is contingent on passing required drug screening and background checks and authorization to work in the United States.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Must be at least 17 years of age.
- Ability to push or pull a loaded pallet jack and/or hand truck with a minimum load of 70 lbs.
- Ability to lift approximately 70 lbs. or more when required by essential job functions.
- Ability to work all shifts, including overtime and weekends; dependability is required.
- Ability to interact well with others and work independently or in a team setting.
- Ability to work under tight time constraints in a high-volume environment with multiple priorities.
- Ability to read, interpret, and comply with written information and documents, including safety rules, operations and procedure manuals, and maintenance instructions, with high comprehension and concentration and the ability to meet deadlines.
- Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and random drug and/or alcohol tests and be subject to a criminal history background check.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States.
- Must be able to perform the physical activities described, including standing, walking, lifting, twisting, turning, reaching, and potentially climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling.
- Required vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Responsibilities
