About The Position

Manitoulin Transport is seeking a Dock Worker to join their team. The role involves unloading freight from trailers and loading outbound trailers using electronic devices, marking materials with identifying information, and recording amounts of materials received or distributed. The position also requires counting and weighing items to ensure conformance to the shipper's bill of lading, starting heaters, and placarding trailers as required. The Dock Worker will arrange freight in a specified sequence for maximum trailer space usage and take an active role in the safety and maintenance of the warehouse, including sweeping floors and proper storage of dunnage. Other duties may be assigned.

Requirements

Must have forklift experience.
Developed problem solving, critical thinking, decision making and judgment skills.
Able to lift 50 lbs, sometimes repetitive.
Ability to multitask and manage various tasks successfully.
Ability to operate our internal computer systems.

Responsibilities

Starts heaters, placard trailers as required.
Arranges freight in specified sequence for maximum usage of trailer space.
Must take an active role in safety and maintenance of the warehouse by sweeping the floor, proper storage of dunnage, etc.
Other duties may be assigned.
