About The Position

The Dock Worker properly loads and unloads freight using a forklift, pallet jack, hand truck, or by hand; secures freight to prevent damage or shifting; accurately records freight condition when it arrives at the service center; and inspects dock equipment before and after each shift. Regular attendance is required. This is not an exhaustive list of duties, and operational, safety, or other needs may require the employee to perform additional assigned duties.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Must be at least 17 years old.
• Able to push or pull a loaded pallet jack and/or hand truck with a minimum load of 70 lbs.
• Able to lift approximately 70 lbs. or more if required by essential job functions.
• Able to work all shifts, including overtime and weekends, and be dependable.
• Able to comply with company policies, rules, procedures, and Code of Conduct.
• Able to interact well with others and work independently or as part of a team.
• Able to work under tight time constraints in a high-volume environment with multiple priorities.
• Able to read, interpret, and comply with written information and documents, including safety rules, operations and procedure manuals, and maintenance instructions; must demonstrate comprehension and concentration and meet deadlines.
• Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and may be subject to random drug and/or alcohol tests and a criminal history background check.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in the transportation industry.
• Stable employment history.
• Prior forklift operation experience or forklift certification.

Responsibilities
