Dock Worker Part Time
About The Position
The Dock Worker properly loads and unloads freight using a forklift, pallet jack, hand truck, or by hand. The role includes securing freight with straps, braces, and padding to prevent damage or shifting; accurately recording freight condition upon arrival at the service center; and inspecting dock equipment before and after shifts. Regular attendance is required. The employee may also be assigned other duties as operational, safety, or other needs require. The job involves frequent physical activity, including lifting and moving freight, and work around moving mechanical parts and airborne particles. Employees may also work at heights, with hazardous materials, and in varying weather conditions. Noise levels range from quiet to loud. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Must be at least 17 years of age.
- Must be able to push or pull a loaded pallet jack and/or hand truck with a minimum load of 70 pounds.
- Must be able to lift approximately 70 pounds or more as required by the essential functions of the job.
- Must be able to work all shifts, including overtime and weekends, and be dependable.
- Must comply with company policies, rules, procedures, and Code of Conduct.
- Must interact well with others and work independently or as part of a team.
- Must be capable of working under tight time constraints in a high-volume environment with multiple priorities.
- Must be able to read, interpret, and comply with written information and documents, including safety rules, operations and procedure manuals, and maintenance instructions, with a high level of comprehension and concentration and the ability to meet deadlines.
- Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and may be subject to random drug and/or alcohol tests and a criminal history background check.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States.
Nice To Haves

- Prior forklift operation experience or previous forklift certification.
Responsibilities
