About The Position

Old Dominion Freight Line is seeking a dedicated, detail-oriented Dockworker to support the safe and efficient loading and unloading of freight and related warehouse and material-handling operations. Safety, teamwork, and meeting customer pickup and delivery schedules are central to the position. This is a full-time position with overnight work as the posted shift guideline. Workdays and shifts may change based on scheduling and business needs. The position requires attendance and the ability to work a variety of times and shifts to meet customer schedules. Employees may also be assigned other duties as needed. The role involves substantial physical activity, including prolonged standing, walking, and forklift operation; frequent bending, squatting, reaching, pushing, pulling, and lifting; and handling freight weighing up to 500 pounds with or without a dolly or cart. Employees must be able to work in extremely hot or cold climates and in environments where noise and odors may be present. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions. Full-time employees and their families are eligible for health benefits, including a zero-premium medical plan for employee-only coverage, vision and dental coverage, disability insurance, flexible spending accounts, a 401(k) with company match and potential annual discretionary match, life insurance, a wellness program, tuition reimbursement for drivers and technicians, training and growth opportunities, advancement through the promote-from-within philosophy, and national career opportunities at the company’s 260-plus service centers.
